Welcome to the online page for the West Ongar Concept Framework.
Epping Forest District Council’s Local Plan has allocated land for new homes to the west of Ongar and to the South of the Four Wantz Roundabout. This land is split into two parcels, know as ONG.R1 and R2. On the 11th of November 2024, a Concept Framework document, setting out how this development will take shape was endorsed at Cabinet. This document was subject to public consultation and will be a material planning consideration in the determination of any subsequent planning applications. Information can be found here on Epping Forest District Council’s website.
With the Concept Framework agreed upon, City and Country have been hard at work updating the scheme for their parcel of land, known as ONG R2, based on the comments received from you during our last public consultation event back in September 2024.
To further our commitment towards providing a high-quality scheme, we are holding a second public consultation to showcase our updated proposals and are again welcoming feedback on the updated scheme. This consultation will focus on ONG.R2 only, detailing the proposals to be put forward by City and Country. The event, being held at the Zinc Arts Centre in Ongar between 4pm and 7pm on January 22nd, will be an opportunity for residents of Ongar to see how we’ve taken onboard your feedback from the last consultation to help improve our designs.
The landowner and promoters for ONG.R1 are progressing separately with their neighbouring site, which will be subject to further public consultation in due course.
We’re very excited to be able to present our new design to the local community and would encourage everyone attending to submit their feedback for our consideration. Once we have reviewed all of the feedback from this round of consultation, we will be looking to finalise our scheme and submit a formal planning application to Epping Forest District Council. There will be further opportunity to formally comment on the proposals at the planning application.
